Digital transformation for shipping container terminals using automated container code recognition

Due to the sweeping waves of global industry development, number containers passing through terminal ports increases every day. Therefore, it is essential automate identification process for container codes replace manual more efficient logistics and safer workplace. This paper aims design evaluate performance such a system. Specifically, automated recognition (ACCR) has been implemented. novel tracking model based on image processing algorithms machine learning (ML) be applied in ports. There are three steps this system: character detection, isolation, recognition. The first step identify an area with 10 digits 26 capitals. After detecting text area, second separate characters. Each recognized last by classification method. In particular, features extracted histogram oriented gradients (HOG) algorithm support vector machines (SVMs) training prediction. trained ML then used classify characters according what learned. general, digital technologies management will benefit from proposed algorithms.
